Missions towards Human Dignity: Challenges from within and beyond the Black Sea Region

The International Association for Mission Studies in Europe (IAMS Europe) is organizing an International Conference under the general topic „Missions Towards Human Dignity. Challenges from Within and Beyond the Black Sea Region“.

The event will take place between 8-12 September 2023, in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), at the Faculty of the Orthodox Theology, „Babes-Bolyai“ University. The provisional program IAMS Europe 2023 Conference Program

This conference places human dignity at the centre of our theological-missiological attention. It does so in its relevance for the missionary praxis’s ecumenical, inter-faith, and international entanglements. Human dignity as a theological notion gains its primary meaning in the human’s relatedness to God through creation.

The leading question of this Call is: To what extent can missional praxis (theory and practice) become a source of regional renewal and help better understand Christian missions‘ potential in Europe to further human dignity, a search for the common good, within geopolitical processes, natural disasters defined by experiences of crises? We want to invite you to a contribution that explores the above ideas through several main routes.
