The German Society for Mission Studies (DGMW), founded in 1918, is a non-profit-making institution promoting scientific research on the history and theory of Christian Mission.

Its activities include:

• Conferences on current topics of Mission Studies
  
• Promotion of research projects and publications in the field of Mission Studies
  
• Editing of a series of publications in the field of Mission Studies "Missionswissenschaftliche Forschungen - Neue Folge"
  
• Editing of a Journal: "Interkulturelle Theologie - Zeitschrift für Missionswissenschaft" - from 2001 with supplement series "Beihefte".

Members of DGMW are:

• elected members active in Mission Studies
  
• as donors the Association of Protestant Churches and Missions in Germany (EMW), die "Deutsche Evangelische Missionshilfe" (DEMH), "Verband evangelischer Missionskonferenzen" and further organisations or persons that give a donation to DGMW.
